From the harsh southern drawls of Los Angeles comes Great White Buffalo, a hard-rocking quartet. The band appears in a time where indie music is focused on it’s 80’s synth revival and R&B beats and the genre has moved on from the southern-rocker types. However, here they still exist and here they are still kicking ass. Lead singer, Graham Bockmiller’s whiskey-soaked vocals are from another era, much like their insatiable guitar hooks on each and every song. “Likely Story” has an undeniable melody that harkens back to the early 90’s where grunge rockers and indie rock was just starting to make it’s footing in the music world. The alt-country genre is slowing disappearing, but these L.A. rockers refuse to give in to a world of computers and beats, their live videos show them as passionate and crazy as they should be. They are continually playing shows and getting their name out into the world; they are currently in the studio working on their sophomore album that will hopefully make some more ripples in the indie scene. These guys deserve it, the album is a 24-minute non-stop heavy ride that you will not soon forget, or stop humming.
